Configuration for Jitsi
You only need to complete the steps in this section if your want to use Jitsi with the GroupWise Video Conferencing Add-on. If you are not going to use Jitsi, then you can skip this section.
If you have no existing On-Premise Jitsi implementation, but would like to try out the GroupWise Video Conferencing Add-on, you can use the free hosted service at Jitsi. You do not need any login account to be able to use the Jitsi hosted service.
Important
If you have Jitsi installed On-Premise it is advisable that you enable Jitsi for LDAP authentication, as well as enabling the lobby feature for guests that need to join Jitsi meetings. This will prevent unauthorised access into your Jitsi meetings. The hosted Jitsi option has no authentication mechanism, unless you subscribe to the Jisti offering from 8x8.
Steps to Configure
- You only need to know what your Jitsi service URL is to be able to use Jitsi with the Add-on.
- There is no specific configuration needed on the Jitsi service to be able to use it with the Add-on.
- Users will create meeting room names at will and these room names are then used within scheduled appointments.
Next Actions
Once you know what your Jitsi URL is, make sure that you have it available when you get to the set up of the configuration in the Client Portal.
You can now proceed to configure other Video Conferencing platforms that are in use. If Jitsi is your only platform, you can proceed directly to the Configure Management Portal.
